About the role
Full Stack Developer
Penguin Random House is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic and agile development team. This role is crucial for driving business growth within PRH. We are looking for candidates experienced in React/JS, Java or Python, and SQL. Familiarity with DevOps is also a plus.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of modern web applications as part of our ongoing platform evolution.
- Build, test, deploy, and iterate on both existing and new technology products for internal and external users.
- Leverage strong technical skills in front-end (web/mobile), backend development, cloud services (e.g., AWS), and DevOps practices to drive continuous improvement and automation.
- Support legacy systems and transition them to modern architectures.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Apply creative problem-solving and sound judgment in a fast-paced development environment.
Qualifications
- 3 or more years of professional software development experience preferred.
- Proficient in front-end technologies such as React/JavaScript.
- Experience with backend development in Java or Python.
- Familiarity with SQL and database fundamentals.
- Strong grasp of modern web standards, accessibility, and security best practices.
- Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and frameworks.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot or Claude Code for feature development or bug fixing is a plus.
Location and Compensation
This position is open to remote candidates based in the United States who are able to work Eastern Time hours. The salary range for this role is $100,000–$115,000, commensurate with experience. All positions are currently eligible for an annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
