About the Communicator Role
Peel Regional Police is seeking a Communicator for its Radio Operations bureau. In this role, you will handle emergency (911) and non-emergency calls, coordinate police dispatches, and provide support services using Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and CPIC systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and assess emergency and non-emergency calls
- Gather necessary information and initiate calls for service
- Operate CAD and CPIC systems effectively
- Coordinate and dispatch police and support services
- Provide backup support to dispatchers
- Perform additional duties and support internal communications
Qualifications & Skills
- College education or equivalent experience in communications
- Minimum of two years related experience; dispatch/public service preferred
- Proficient in MS Outlook; working knowledge of CPIC and CAD
- Excellent keyboarding, oral communication, and listening skills
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving capabilities

This full-time temporary position offers an hourly rate of $47.58, employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance, OMERS Pension Plan, tuition reimbursement, on-site training, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, and more. Shift work includes days, afternoons, and midnights with structured training and rotation.
