About T Levels
T Levels are new, two-year vocational courses equivalent to three A levels, launching in September 2020. Developed with employers, they combine classroom learning with a minimum 45-day industry placement, preparing students for skilled employment, further study, or higher apprenticeships.
The Role: T Level Examiner, Digital Data Analytics
This contract role offers an excellent opportunity to earn extra income alongside existing commitments while advancing your career in education. As a T Level Examiner, you will accurately mark candidate responses according to a predefined mark scheme and established examination procedures. Marking can be done either onscreen using ePEN from home or through traditional paper scripts sent via post. Success in this role requires a high level of contemporary subject knowledge to effectively apply the mark scheme. Each examiner receives an agreed allocation of scripts, and some national travel may be necessary for training and standardisation sessions.
We are actively recruiting examiners for the Digital Data Analytics T Level across the following papers:
- Core Exam 119606: Digital Analysis, Legislation and Emerging Issues
- Core Exam 219607: The Business Environment
- Employer Set Project19608
Key Responsibilities
- Mark accurately and consistently to maintain overall standards.
- Submit samples to your Team Leader at designated times.
- Adhere to all marking milestones.
- Complete all specified administration tasks.
- Attend standardisation meetings.
- Regularly mark scripts during the Summer and/or Autumn Series.
Qualifications
Essential
- A degree or equivalent work-based qualification (e.g., Level 5/6/7 NVQ in computing, computer science, or software development) OR membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., British Computing Society, Chartered Institute for IT).
- Full conversancy with languages specified (e.g., Python or C-based languages such as C, C#, C++, Java).
Desirable
- A qualified teacher status or an equivalent teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, C&G 7404, PTTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS) OR an Assessor/Verifier award.
Experience Required
- A minimum of one year's teaching and assessment experience within the last 8 years in computing, software development, programming, or computer science at Level 3.
OR
- Recent occupational experience in roles such as Computer Programmer, Software Developer, Software Engineer, or Senior Software Developer.
Competencies Required
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines.
- High level of subject knowledge to accurately apply the mark scheme.
