Role Overview: Ruby On Rails Engineer AWS Experience
Take ownership of a Ruby on Rails application, managing the transition from a contracting team, driving feature development and maintenance, and contributing to architectural decisions under the CTO’s guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Ownership & Transition: Collaborate with the Ukrainian contracting team to absorb knowledge, ensure maintainability, and document the codebase.
- Feature Development & Maintenance: Design, develop, deploy new features, review code, and integrate backend with frontend components.
- Infrastructure & Deployment: Manage AWS-hosted infrastructure; troubleshoot, optimize performance, and support database scaling strategies.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Work with the CTO to define technical priorities, mentor new hires, and ensure effective communication across time zones.
Requirements
- 5+ years professional experience with Ruby on Rails full stack.
- Strong knowledge of database design and data modeling.
- Proven AWS infrastructure management skills.
- Strong communication skills for remote, international teams.
- Nice-to-have: Leadership and startup experience.
