Automotive Project Manager
PBS Systems is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automotive Project Manager to join our growing team. As the third-largest Dealership Management System (DMS) provider in North America, we are dedicated to transforming how dealerships manage sales, service, inventory, and accounting. About the Role
The Project Manager will lead and execute software conversion projects for automotive dealership clients. This critical role involves coordinating customer training, ensuring accurate data conversion, and managing integrations with third-party systems. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, driving project planning, implementation, and communication with all stakeholders. Success in this role hinges on customer satisfaction, data integrity, and system compatibility. This position requires up to 50% travel to client sites across North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage software conversion projects from planning through execution.
- Develop detailed implementation plans and timelines, ensuring all milestones are met.
- Coordinate and manage project resources, including personnel and equipment.
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and timeline.
- Oversee customer training programs on PBS software.
- Monitor data conversion processes, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain integrations with third-party systems.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and internal teams, providing project updates.
- Prepare and present weekly project progress reports.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Document implementation processes and procedures.
- Obtain 1 PBS Certification within the first year of employment.
Must-Have Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in a car dealership or the automotive industry.
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools.
- Willingness to travel within Canada and the USA up to 2 weeks per month; valid passport, U.S. visa (if applicable), and full driver’s license are required.
