Role Overview - Conflicts Researcher II
The Conflicts Researcher II supports the Office of the General Counsel, Risk & Compliance team, and the Conflicts and New Business Intake Department. This role involves legal research, analysis, and counsel on conflicts of interest, ethics, professional responsibility, compliance, and related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and accurate research using internal and external resources.
- Update corporate hierarchies in conflicts and billing databases.
- Analyze research results and conflicts reports to identify potential conflicts.
- Communicate findings with attorneys and administrative staff.
- Consult with management on complex conflicts issues and propose resolutions.
- Research mergers, acquisitions, and potential bankruptcies, recording findings appropriately.
- Maintain detailed resolution notes and handle additional research projects as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; four years law firm experience as alternative.
- At least two years of relevant research or conflicts-related experience.
- Proficiency in conflicts related software including Microsoft Office and Intapp Open suite.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong customer service focus.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
