About the Role
The Managing Director Business Development Credit Solutions Marketplace Lending is a senior individual contributor role. The role involves sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and closing partnership opportunities with fintech platforms, marketplace lenders, and non-bank financial institutions. You will drive business development by identifying strategic lending opportunities across consumer and SMB verticals while aligning with regulatory, compliance, and credit risk frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading business development for credit sponsorship and lending partnerships.
- Building and maintaining relationships with fintech platforms and non-bank originators.
- Representing Pathward externally at conferences and trade shows.
- Managing end-to-end business development processes from outreach to partner onboarding.
- Collaborating with internal teams including compliance, legal, risk, operations, and executive leadership.
- Tracking pipeline activity and reporting key performance metrics.
- Advising on market trends and emerging opportunities.
What You Will Need
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years in fintech business development, capital markets, or related fields. A deep understanding of credit sponsorship models, fintech loan origination frameworks, and financial regulations is essential. Strong relationship-building, negotiation skills, and an ability to work under pressure to meet sales targets are required.

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range is $104,000 to $174,000 with an annual performance-based incentive. Pathward offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), life and disability insurance, paid time off, and more.
