Your Role

In the role of Data Manager, you will lead and mentor the data team, driving the design and execution of the company’s data strategy. You will collaborate with key business stakeholders to prioritize and implement data initiatives that enhance strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. Your responsibilities include overseeing data engineering functions, developing scalable data architectures, and ensuring compliance with global regulations.

Main Tasks

  • Leadership and Team Development: Guide the data team in a collaborative, quality-focused, and growth-oriented environment.
  • Data Strategy and Roadmap: Develop, communicate, and execute data strategies and roadmaps aligned with company priorities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global IT and cross-functional teams, optimizing performance across projects.
  • Data Governance and Compliance: Implement governance, security, and compliance policies in line with GDPR and other standards.
  • Innovation & Operational Excellence: Adopt modern technologies and methodologies, streamline workflows, and support data literacy across the organization.

What We’re Looking For

  • Advanced understanding of data engineering, analytics, or software engineering.
  • Proven managerial experience leading technical teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A self-starter with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • An inclusive mindset and fluent English.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining data pipelines (DBT, Logic Apps, Boomi).
  • Experience with data lakes, warehouses (preferably Snowflake), and cloud-based solutions.
  • Solid grasp of ETL processes, data modeling, and database management.
  • Programming in Python, SQL, or Java.
  • Competence with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Understanding of Agile/PMO methodologies and ERP systems like Dynamics 365 F&O.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of customer data platforms and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).

Additional Details

This is a full-time position based in Amsterdam with a hybrid work model (maximum 3 days remote per week). Interviews include a practical assignment and standardized questions focusing on role success. Patagonia champions inclusivity and equal employment opportunities.
