This role blends systems administration with client-facing support, requiring both technical depth and the ability to communicate successfully with production staff.
Basic Qualifications You Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
- Strongly proficient in Linux and Windows server environments, including building systems, configuring them, hardening security, and optimizing performance.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting and maintaining enterprise infrastructure and production systems in 24/7 operational environments.
Bonus Skills:
- Proven ability to provide technical support and guidance to production teams, editors, artists, and end-users.
- Solid interpersonal skills and tolerance, especially in high-pressure broadcast environments.
- Significant experience with broadcast and media platforms (e.g., Mimir, Avid, VizRT, Telestream, or similar), including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and end-user support.
- Experience with media asset management (MAM) systems.
- Understanding of how media workflows are organized.
- Troubleshoot issues related to media, including codecs, formats, and transfer protocols.
- Ability to create and deliver technical training, develop user documentation, and build operational runbooks.
- Lead the response to operational incidents and troubleshoot complex issues in applications and infrastructure, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Solid knowledge of networking basics (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, connectivity troubleshooting).
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., Nutanix, VMware, or equivalent).
- Experience designing and supporting SAN and NAS storage environments using SMB and NFS.
- Demonstrated capability implementing and using monitoring, alerting, and log analysis tools (e.g., Zabbix, New Relic, or similar).
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python for automation and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting production databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar systems.
- Hands-on administration of Active Directory.
- Ability to manage multiple support requests and projects simultaneously in a dynamic production environment.
- Willingness and ability to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Proficient interpersonal skills, works well in a team environment, collaborates successfully with technical and production teams, and communicates clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Good documentation skills (technical documents, incident reports, operational procedures).
- AI-conscious mindset, with interest in recognizing how AI-assisted tools can support troubleshooting, automation, documentation, and operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or similar) and hybrid infrastructure concepts is a plus.
- Experience with containerized workloads using Docker or Kubernetes is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with equipment installation and data center operations.
