The Opportunity: Engineer, Production Systems
We at Paramount Skydance are looking for an Engineer, Production Systems! Within this team, you will join a group that installs, commissions, and debugs various Broadcast Production systems. These include Audio, Video, Control, and IT related to broadcast equipment. As the Engineer, Production Systems, you will be a critical resource, understanding everything needed to put together a show at our historic broadcast center!
Responsibilities
- Understand and support in-house video, audio and control systems.
- Strong understanding of technical schematic documentation and ability to follow signal paths for system verification.
- Support maintenance department for problem solving and repair of above-mentioned systems.
- Maintain network and system documentation.
- Work autonomously or as part of a team to support technical project execution alongside other specialists and wiring technicians as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Proven familiarity of broadcast systems: compressed and uncompressed video & audio formats, with awareness of SMPTE 2110 IP based systems.
- Knowledge of production control systems commonly used in complex production control rooms for live and non-live applications.
- Basic understanding of networking, subnetting, and VLAN implementation.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Vizio.
- Technical knowledge of current broadcast systems software, protocols, and standards.
- Understanding of network administration.
- Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
Bonus Skills
- College diploma or university degree in the field of Electrical or Broadcast engineering or 3+ years equivalent work experience.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled at working within a team-oriented, harmonious environment.
- Ability to conduct research into hardware and software issues and products as required.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
What We Offer
We offer attractive compensation and comprehensive benefits packages. The hiring salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $100,000.00, applicable to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay depends on various job-related factors. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program, and PTO. This position is bonus eligible.
