The Opportunity: News Producer Lineup
Paramount Australia & New Zealand is seeking a Permanent full-time News Producer Lineup to join their busy metro newsroom in Sydney. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to grow a career within a dynamic media environment.
As the Lineup Producer, you will be pivotal in planning the bulletin's structure, managing its visual presentation, and ensuring precise timing. You will facilitate seamless communication with Producers and Presenters, guiding the broadcast to air without issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the build, look, and timing of the bulletin.
- Writing breakers and updates for news segments.
- Performing basic editing tasks as required.
- Overseeing the creative elements of the bulletin, including creating on-set background vision for each story, determining what is both effective and appropriate.
- Liaising with operations crew to ensure all technical aspects of the bulletin are correct.
- Working closely with reporters on location for live crosses, ensuring accurate timing for both vision and talent.
What Paramount is Looking For
The ideal candidate for the News Producer Lineup role will possess:
- Previous experience in news lineup producing.
- Highly effective communication and relationship skills, including the ability to collaborate with a wide range of people, clearly articulate expectations, and foster a strong team environment.
- A passion for news, coupled with a sound knowledge of local, national, and international issues.
- Proven ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure.
- A strong capacity to adapt quickly to change.
- Decisiveness and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Experience with I-News is considered an advantage.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to an evolving broadcast environment.
