Pansophic Learning is seeking a Product Operations Engineer to design, code, and test software solutions for learning systems. You will be responsible for delivering and supporting high-quality products in a timely manner, administering Canvas, integrated third-party applications, and Student Information Systems (SIS) to support global expansion. This role is ideal for a collaborative and reliable individual motivated by working within an energetic, high-performing team to build a leading education company.
Key Responsibilities
The Product Operations Engineer will oversee the implementation, support, and troubleshooting of systems within our educational environment, supporting over 100 schools globally (Online, Brick and Mortar, and international). This position demands strong technical skills in data analysis, complex configurations, and integrations with both internal and external applications. You will collaborate with Software Development Managers and Software Engineers to offer suggestions and solutions for current and future development, contributing to the company's growth and improvement.
What You'll Do:
- Design, implement, and test software solutions for K-12 schools’ learning environments.
- Develop and test RESTful web services using NodeJS, Google Apps Script, and Postman.
- Utilize Amazon Web Services (AWS) for building, hosting, and maintaining application environments.
- Adhere to best practices for source code repositories and Git branching/merging strategies.
- Analyze and resolve technical and application problems, including production issues and code deployments.
- Contribute to user interface design and development.
- Set up and administer systems such as SIS, LMS, and third-party integrations for new and existing schools.
- Collaborate closely with enrollment and development teams on data mapping into the learning ecosystem.
- Coordinate daily system operations, including routine maintenance and application updates.
- Address system anomalies, diagnose issues, and ensure timely resolution for school staff and administrators.
- Coordinate with vendors on maintenance impacts and communicate updates to affected parties.
- Engage with various departments on projects, data requests, automation, and custom reports.
- Create and maintain documentation and provide training to the corporate team.
- Support systems during school year-end activities and annual rollovers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience administering complex systems/integrations (e.g., Canvas LMS, SIS, Clever Integrations).
- Strong technical aptitude for learning new systems, processes, and backend reporting.
- Experience developing open standards-based solutions: web services, web applications, and modern user interfaces.
- Demonstrable experience implementing features across software development teams and environments.
- Ability to be a self-starter, work in a fast-paced environment, and solve challenging problems in code automation.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of relational databases and proficiency with SQL.
- Experience with message queue technology and design patterns.
- 3+ years of experience with NodeJS.
- 3+ years of experience with JavaScript.
- Familiarity with AWS services (S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, EC2, CloudFront, Redshift).
- Experience with AWS APIs.
- Experience with Git version control.
- Experience in a Unix/Linux environment.
- Experience with ticket tracking and supporting end users.
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.

Compensation and Benefits:
The annual starting salary for this position is between $95,000 – $105,000 annually. Factors influencing pay include geography, skills, education, and experience.
