Product Operations Engineer
Pansophic Learning is seeking a skilled Product Operations Engineer to design, code, and test software solutions for learning systems. This role is crucial for delivering and supporting high-quality products in a timely manner, supporting the worldwide expansion of our schools by administering Canvas, integrated third parties, and Student Information Systems (SIS).
The ideal candidate is a collaborative and reliable individual, motivated by working with an energetic, high-performing team to build a leading education company. You will oversee the implementation, support, and troubleshooting of systems within our educational environment, which spans online, brick-and-mortar, and international schools (100+ locations).
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test software solutions for K-12 schools’ learning environments.
- Develop and test RESTful web services using NodeJS, Google Apps Script, and Postman.
- Utilize various Amazon Web Services (AWS) for building, hosting, and maintaining application environments.
- Adhere to best practices for source code repositories and Git branching/merging strategies.
- Analyze and resolve technical and application problems, including production issues and code deployment.
- Contribute to user interface design and development.
- Set up and administer systems (SIS, LMS, third-party integrations) for new and existing schools.
- Collaborate with enrollment and development teams on complex data mapping into the learning ecosystem.
- Coordinate daily operations of systems, address system anomalies, diagnose issues, and ensure timely resolutions.
- Perform routine maintenance and application updates on servers/instances.
- Coordinate with vendors on maintenance impacts and communicate updates via Incident/Maintenance team.
- Work with various departments on projects, data requests, automation, and custom reports.
- Create and maintain documentation and provide training to the corporate team.
- Support systems during school year-end activities and annual rollovers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience administering complex systems/integrations like Canvas LMS, SIS, or Clever Integrations.
- Strong technical aptitude for learning new systems, processes, and backend reporting.
- Demonstrated experience developing open standards-based solutions (web services, applications, UIs).
- Significant experience implementing features across software development teams and environments.
- Ability to be a self-starter, work in a fast-paced environment, and solve challenging problems in code automation.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of relational databases and proficiency with SQL.
- Experience with message queue technology and design patterns.
- 3+ years of experience with NodeJS and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with AWS services (S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, EC2, CloudFront, Redshift).
- Experience with AWS APIs and Git version control.
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience with ticket tracking and supporting end-users.
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
