About the role
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst (Contract) to support our data consolidation initiatives. In this role, your primary focus will be mapping and analyzing complex data from disparate systems to build a reliable "single source of truth." You will bridge the gap between raw data and business intelligence by ensuring our data architecture is clean, consolidated, and perfectly structured for downstream visualization in Tableau.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Data Consolidation & Mapping: Extract, analyze, and consolidate data sets from multiple disparate sources (e.g., CRMs, ERPs, flat files) into a unified, centralized data repository.
- Single Source of Truth Management: Design and document complex data mapping rules and transformations to establish definitive, standardized definitions for cross-functional business metrics.
- Dashboard & Report Development: Design, build, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and automated reports that translate consolidated data into actionable insights for business stakeholders. Create reports in systems like Gainsight, Clarizen, and Salesforce.
- KPI Tracking & Analytics: Collaborate with leadership to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and build intuitive reporting structures that monitor business health, trends, and performance.
- Quality Assurance & Data Cleansing: Perform rigorous data profiling and validation to identify inconsistencies, resolve discrepancies, and ensure data integrity flows seamlessly from the backend systems to the front-end reports.
Required Skills
- Data Visualization & Reporting: Hands-on experience building complex, interactive dashboards in Tableau (or similar BI tools) and translating business requirements into compelling visual data narratives.
- Data Mapping & Integration: Deep expertise in master data management (MDM), data mapping, and ETL/ELT concepts.
- Advanced SQL: High proficiency in writing complex SQL queries to extract, join, and manipulate large datasets across various relational databases.
- Dashboard UI/UX Design: Strong understanding of dashboard design principles and best practices, focusing on end-user experience, optimal chart selection, and minimizing cognitive load.
- Analytical Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to untangle messy data structures, spot logical conflicts between systems, and formulate standardized business rules for accurate reporting.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data trends and architectural concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Education & Experience
- Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Professional Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience in data analysis, data mapping, and hands-on BI reporting/dashboarding.
- Project Experience: Proven track record of successfully contributing to data consolidation or "single source of truth" initiatives, followed by deploying dashboards on top of those datasets.
- Systems Knowledge: Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS) and standard enterprise software databases (e.g., Salesforce, Gainsight, Clarizen).
Compensation
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer, this is the pay range that Magnit (the staffing agency) reasonably expects to pay for this position: $65/hour to $70/hour. Please note that the compensation information in this posting reflects the hourly wage only and does not include benefits. Magnit offers Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K.
