About the Digital & Data Community
Join PA Consulting's Digital & Data team as a Data Privacy Specialist, working alongside product, design, and cross-disciplinary teams to bring innovative software solutions to life. This role offers a flexible and unique career path within a trust-based, inclusive environment that values excellence, innovation, and curiosity. You have the option to pursue a technical career track, without needing to follow the Partner career track.
- Hybrid working: Minimum of 2 days per week in the office or on client site.
- Diverse projects: Work on a broad variety of projects and tech stacks for clients across seven sectors.
- Supportive community: Collaborate with experts through knowledge-sharing, peer-level support, coaching, and mentoring.
- Learning and growth: Deepen expertise with a dedicated budget for technical and non-technical training and certifications.
What to Expect in the Role
As a Data Privacy Specialist, you will work to agile best practices and cross-functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders. You'll apply your technical skills to problem-solve with clients and contribute to internal projects. The role involves live in-person whiteboarding sessions for team problem-solving, complemented by asynchronous communication on Teams.
While hybrid working is standard (minimum two days per week in office/client site), the actual time and location may vary by assignment, potentially including up to 5 days per week on a client site. PA Consulting fosters an environment deeply rooted in its values, ensuring a supportive and engaging workplace.
Essential Qualifications
You must be an established consulting professional with experience in delivering projects focused on data protection and privacy laws in the private sector. Ideally, you should have experience consulting with Life Sciences or Financial Service sector clients.
- Proven experience with relevant data protection and privacy laws and regulations (e.g., CCPA, EU GDPR, Privacy Shield) and industry standards and frameworks (e.g., GAPP, BCR).
- Ability to efficiently understand client organizations, their business models, and tailor relevant processes to privacy requirements.
- Effective communication with diverse stakeholders (e.g., business, legal, IT, security) about data protection and privacy matters.
- Strong analytical mindset, focused on producing quality work in a results-oriented environment.
- Thrive in problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Enjoy collaborating with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Qualifications
Even if you don't meet every requirement, applicants are encouraged to apply as PA Consulting often hires for similar roles. Desirable qualifications include:
- Possession of relevant certifications such as CIPM, CIPT, CIPP/E, CISM, CISSP, and/or HCISSP.
- Involvement in industry-related organizations (e.g., IAPP, ISACA, (ISC)²). PA Consulting will support you in achieving these qualifications if you don’t have them.
- Hands-on experience of OneTrust technical configuration and integration with other systems.
- Experience in Consent Management and/or in the Pharma/MedTech sector.
UK Security Clearance Requirement
Please note that some UK roles at PA Consulting require a UK security clearance. All PA people undergo background checks and achieve the Baseline Personnel Security Standard. However, some UK roles require higher levels of National Security Vetting, necessitating at least 5 years of continuous residency in the UK. Applicants are advised to apply only if they meet the residency requirements (British citizen or 5 years UK residency) as this is a prerequisite for security clearance. Review UK Government’s guidance on security vetting if unsure about eligibility.
Assessment Process
The interview stages may be subject to change based on specific role requirements, but typically include:
- Quick call with a Tech Recruiter to discuss application, role, and PA.
- Round 1: Competency or technical interview (60 mins).
- Round 2: The other interview type (competency or technical) not covered in Round 1 (60 mins).
- Final round: Meeting with a PA leader, involving a mini case study and discussion on client-centricity (60 mins).
