Overview
Oyster® is seeking a Senior Counsel Claims & Escalations to join our Employment Law Team. This remote role is tailored for a legal expert with deep expertise in U.S. employment law and a strong understanding of the EOR model.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on employment law and related issues across multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage employment-related claims and mitigate legal risks.
- Liaise with outside counsel and research complex legal matters.
- Create clear, actionable legal guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
- Support internal teams through contract drafting, negotiations, and policy creation.
Core Requirements
Candidates must have a Juris Doctorate, US bar admission, and at least 5 years of U.S. employment law practice (law firm and in-house background preferred). Expertise in multi-jurisdictional employment issues, EOR model intricacies, and strong business acumen is essential. Familiarity with Canadian employment law is a bonus. Additional responsibilities include immigration issues and drafting employment agreements.
Additional Details
This position is fully remote and requires candidates to be based in the United States within Eastern or Central Time Zones (UTC -5/-6). A reliable home internet connection and fluent English are required.
