About the Role

Oxford University Press is seeking a dedicated Privacy Officer to ensure ongoing compliance with UK and international data protection laws. In this role, you will maintain the Privacy Information Management System, conduct privacy risk assessments, and support data protection initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
  • Manage privacy incidents and coordinate responses to data subject rights requests.
  • Support and rollout privacy management software.
  • Partner with business divisions to embed data protection practices.
  • Assist in awareness campaigns and employee training.

About You

The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of data privacy laws, especially in the UK and Europe, and is experienced in business process documentation and developing compliance policies. Excellent communication skills and professional data privacy certifications such as CIPP/E are essential.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with process analysis and documentation in privacy programs.
  • Proven track record in establishing data privacy programs in complex environments.
  • Experience investigating data breaches and advising on privacy improvements.
