Environmental Compliance Specialist at OWL Services

The Environmental Compliance Specialist supports the Regional Environmental Manager, handling interactions with regulatory agencies, monitoring leak detection and compliance testing for underground storage tank systems, overseeing spending, and coordinating emergency environmental responses.
Key Responsibilities
- Notice of Violations: Respond effectively to all incurred violations.
- Inspections: Coordinate all necessary inspections, arrange with inspectors, and rectify deficiencies identified by OWL Services staff before filing reports. Report failures as required.
- Inventory Control Variances: Collaborate with reportable parties to ensure investigations are documented and acted upon. Track variance causes and work with Operations, Maintenance, and Fuel Dispatch to address them per customer protocols.
- Fuel Inventory Reconciliation: Manage and maintain compliance with state-specific regulations.
- Leak Detection Verification & Reporting: Utilize remote connections to ensure monthly, and if required, weekly passing leak detection results for all fueling systems. Archive results in required databases for facility inspection access. Assist Sales Representatives in maintaining dealer compliance.
- Statistical Analysis: Develop leak detection statistics for management and Operations review to communicate trends and formulate action plans.
Requirements and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science / environmental studies or five years of related experience in environmental petroleum compliance.
- French speaking preferred.
- Knowledge of Canadian Petroleum regulations preferred.
