Role Description
Outrigo is seeking a technically driven Business Development Engineer to join our advanced engineering and manufacturing team. This key commercial role sits at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and strategic customer partnerships.
Responsibilities
The role involves identifying, qualifying, and winning new business opportunities across sectors like automotive, motorsport, aerospace, defence, rail, marine, and other advanced industries. You will:
- Translate complex engineering solutions (design, simulation, test & validation, additive manufacturing) into clear value propositions.
- Engage in technical discussions and commercial negotiations.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract closing.
- Collaborate with technical teams to craft client-tailored solutions.
- Support bid, proposal, and technical-commercial documentation creation.
- Maintain accurate pipeline tracking via CRM/ERP systems.
- Represent Outrigo at industry events and client workshops.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to refine strategies.
- Lead post-sales support to ensure smooth onboarding and product adoption.
- Drive renewals, upsells, and foster long-term customer loyalty.
Experience & Who You Are
The ideal candidate holds a degree in Engineering, Business Engineering or a related field, with 3+ years in technical sales, business development, or customer-facing engineering roles. You should be adept at explaining technical solutions in business terms, possess strong negotiation and presentation skills, and be proficient in Spanish and English. Prior experience with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, or technology companies is a plus.
