Overview
Outcome School, a non-profit dedicated to upskilling underrepresented young people of color, is seeking a volunteer Tech Career Mentor. In this remote role, you will offer guidance on career pathways, technical skills, and professional development to aspiring tech professionals.
Role Responsibilities
As a Tech Career Mentor, you will:
- Guide mentees on career decisions in the tech industry.
- Share insights on programming, software development, data analysis, UX Design and related tech fields.
- Advise on professional development and effective goal setting.
- Help mentees build confidence and navigate industry challenges.
- Connect mentees with relevant industry networks.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess technical skills in areas such as programming, software development, data analysis, or UX Design. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with a passion for mentoring and empowering young people. Experience in career guidance, coaching, or professional development is beneficial. A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential, and familiarity with challenges faced by underrepresented communities is a plus.
