The Opportunity: Associate, Application Support Specialist
OTC Markets Group is seeking an Associate, Application Support Specialist to join their Application Support/IT Infrastructure team in India. This role is crucial for making an impressive impact at a company dedicated to quality and achievement.
Candidates should possess a thorough understanding of the trading lifecycle and extensive knowledge of financial industry terminology, including underlying finance workflows. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of prior experience in providing technical support, troubleshooting, and/or application support to clients. Individuals with experience in Client Trade Operations within a Financial Service firm may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing, administering, and supporting trading system applications.
- Documenting and maintaining runbooks and recovery procedures for applications and services.
- Monitoring of processes, connections, and trade flows.
- Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on application support and liaising with other teams for incident escalations, application rollouts, and integrating applications with production and non-production infrastructure.
- Performing FIX onboarding, trade support, and FIX connectivity production troubleshooting.
- Supporting Sales and Trading Support teams with client inquiries.
- Helping identify methods to improve services resiliency.
- Monitoring of regulatory reporting obligations.
- Performing additional duties, as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree highly preferred; Computer Science degree is a plus.
- FIX protocol/FIX application support is required.
- Trade support experience.
- UNIX/LINUX command line knowledge.
- Scripting/programming proficiency (Bash, Perl, Python, or equivalent).
- Basic knowledge of networking.
- OTC trade support experience and/or application support experience is preferred.
- Unix/Linux systems administration.
- AWS support and deployment (EC2 administration, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Market data feed/multicast experience.
- Tibco RV/Tibco FTL/ZeroMQ middleware support.
- Knowledge of SQL.
- TCP/UDP troubleshooting experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
