Job Overview

The Legal Assistant Float role in the Toronto office provides both administrative and practice management support to legal professionals. The successful candidate should possess strong communication, technical skills, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Major Responsibilities And Duties

  • Manage the LP’s Inbox and Calendar
  • Act as point of contact for clients and internal/external stakeholders
  • Administer client accounts including time charges, invoicing, and fee verification
  • Coordinate logistics of client meetings, travel, and hospitality arrangements
  • Support client development and manage LP bios information
  • Set up new files and manage document workflow including drafting and formatting
  • Support lengthy document production activities and follow up on audit inquiries

Position Requirements

The candidate must have a Community College Certificate in a Legal Secretarial Assistant program (or equivalent), strong technical skills with MS Office, a professional image, and 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. A hybrid work arrangement is offered with a primarily in-office schedule supplemented by up to 2 remote days per week.
