Function/Duties of Position
The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for an energetic and highly motivated Research Data Analyst 2 . The incumbent will be responsible for conducting complex, large-scale data analyses of both existing and newly collected datasets, combining behavioral, demographic, healthcare record, and cognitive data to refine and test algorithms for health services research projects related to Traumatic Brain Injury, PTSD, and suicide prevention among Veterans, as guided by the investigative team. Additionally, the incumbent will assist with large database management, cleaning, harmonization, audit compliance and quality assurance and enhancing workflows for data collection, curation, processing, management, and sharing. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing data analytic expertise to support manuscript preparation and results dissemination. The position requires the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and manage assigned projects including justifying technical decisions with stakeholders. The candidate must have experience with the R statistical environment and Stata. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a team, troubleshooting issues, and have good verbal and written communication skills.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health or Epidemiology AND 2 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or Epidemiology AND 4 years of relevant experience.
- The position requires expertise in and fluency in statistical analyses using both R and Stata.
- Requires experience with longitudinal and multilevel data analysis to code, clean, and visualize data using large national survey datasets.
- Requires experience compiling complex intergenerational cohort datasets from large, national studies, as well as experience identifying and harmonizing key variables across waves of large national cohort data sources.
- Requires database management experience across multiple studies and laboratories
- Requires experience with audit compliance and quality assurance of data.
- Effectiveness in organizing tasks and setting priorities, multi-tasking, working efficiently with a team, and the ability to be adaptable, creative, and a quick learner are all necessary.
- Preference will be given to applicants with experience conducting statistical analyses in epidemiology, mental health, and/or neuroimaging research.
- Machine learning familiarity preferred.
