Overview

This Systems Engineer role supports the Tiger Institute Health Information Exchange (HIE) platform and associated infrastructure, ensuring the fulfillment of contracted deliverables. You will work closely with an existing senior engineer to maintain system reliability, secure data exchange, optimize interface performance, and ensure operational compliance with contracted reporting requirements.

Candidates must reside in Missouri to align with state program and stakeholder coordination requirements.

HIE System Operations & Support

  • Support day-to-day operations of the HIE platform and infrastructure.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot interface errors, message failures, and data exchange issues.
  • Assist with system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.

Interface & Integration Support

  • Support HL7, CCD, FHIR, and other interoperability standards.
  • Assist with onboarding new participants and connections.
  • Validate inbound/outbound data feeds.
  • Coordinate testing and production deployments.

Collaboration & Redundancy

  • Partner closely with the existing senior HIE engineer.
  • Provide cross-training and operational backup coverage.
  • Collaborate with data, security, and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineer, you will provide critical support to internal users of Oracle Applications and legacy applications, ensuring maximum efficiency. You will respond to user support requests, test and coordinate testing of new Oracle Application releases, log and follow up on bugs with IT and Development, and monitor future application releases. Training users on application features and maintaining application responsibilities based on user work groups are also key. This role acts as a reporting resource and represents users at Data Center meetings, quarter-end user meetings, and other necessary gatherings.

Key Responsibilities (Summary)

  • Support day-to-day operations of the Health Information Exchange (HIE) platform and related infrastructure.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and uptime to ensure reliable exchange services.
  • Troubleshoot interface errors, message failures, and data exchange issues.
  • Assist with system upgrades, patches, configuration updates, and maintenance activities.
  • Support interoperability standards including HL7, CCD, and FHIR.
  • Assist with onboarding new HIE participants and system connections.
  • Validate inbound and outbound data feeds to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate testing efforts and support production deployments.
  • Partner closely with the senior HIE engineer to ensure operational continuity.
  • Provide cross-training and backup support to reduce single-point-of-failure risk.
  • Collaborate with data, security, and infrastructure teams to maintain compliance and secure data exchange.
  • Support contracted reporting requirements and operational documentation.

Qualifications

This role is designated as Career Level - IC2. Please note that certain US customer or client-facing roles may require compliance with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates. The hiring range for this position in Missouri is USD $27.07 - $54.13 per hour, or $56,300 - $112,600 per year, and may include equity eligibility. Oracle offers broad salary ranges to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and location, as well as differing products and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on these factors and internal peer equity.
