Software Developer
The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team provides the opportunity to build and operate massive scale, integrated cloud services in a distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. OCI is committed to delivering best-in-class cloud products for customers tackling global challenges. The OCI Security team ensures OCI's cloud infrastructure is the safest and most reliable development environment. We stay ahead of the evolving cyber-threat landscape by developing novel solutions to prevent and mitigate cyber-attacks on OCI. We seek passionate security and cloud technology engineers for the OCI Security Data Platform team. The ideal candidate is an innovative self-starter ready for a high-level individual contributor or tech lead role, driving the development and delivery of large-scale services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including machine learning scientists, Oracle Labs researchers, and engineers, to develop and run cloud services utilizing advanced machine learning and statistical models for cyber-threat detection and remediation in OCI. Responsibilities:- Design and develop full stack, cloud-based, web services solutions with high scalability, reliability, and availability.
- Productize machine learning models and workflows on cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate extensively with research and engineering teams to deliver complex, large-scale projects.
- Show initiative and enthusiasm in tackling challenging problems with innovative designs.
- 3+ years of experience in software design, development, and operation of large-scale distributed systems.
- Solid programming skills in Java or C#/C++, with experience in scripting languages like Python.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and managing highly scalable, available, and reliable distributed services/systems.
- Experience with relational and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
- Experience with Big Data tools/pipelines: Hadoop (Pig, Hive), Spark, or other Big Data systems.
- Experience with data scalability issues and their impact on trained ML model performance.
- Experience in productizing Machine Learning (ML) workflows is a plus.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

- Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
