Oracle Health Data Services (OHDS) is actively seeking a Senior Director to spearhead a pivotal data platform organization. This role is instrumental in transforming vast quantities of healthcare data into AI-ready semantic models and robust platforms. You will take ownership of the strategy, execution, and operational excellence of a core OHDS data platform that is responsible for ingesting and processing high-volume, high-sensitivity data, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), clinical events, and financial data.

As Senior Director, you will lead an organization comprising over 50 engineers, guided by experienced managers and senior technical leaders. The position operates with significant autonomy and carries substantial influence over the technical and product direction across multiple Oracle Health organizations. A key aspect of this role involves close collaboration with AI/Science teams, other platform organizations, and application teams to drive AI adoption throughout the platform and embed AI-assisted productivity directly into engineering execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, scale, and develop an engineering organization of 50+ engineers, including managers and senior technical leaders, with comprehensive accountability for delivery, quality, and operational outcomes.
• Define and execute the OHDS data platform strategy, covering ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, and AI consumption, with a focus on multi-year impact.
• Champion the adoption of AI-first and agent-based architectures, including MCP servers, to effectively support AI-driven healthcare applications.
• Collaborate strategically with Oracle Health AI/Science teams to transition research and experimentation into production-grade platforms.
• Establish clear direction for AI-assisted engineering practices, aiming to significantly improve productivity, reliability, and overall engineering effectiveness at scale.
• Ensure that platform architectures and operations rigorously meet stringent standards for scale, reliability, resilience, security, compliance, and cost efficiency within highly regulated healthcare environments.
• Set and enforce critical operational mechanisms for availability, correctness, incident readiness, and adherence to regulatory compliance.
• Influence key technical and product decisions across various organizations without requiring direct authority, ensuring alignment around shared platform and AI goals.
• Communicate the platform's strategy, potential risks, and achieved outcomes effectively to senior and executive leadership.
• Build a strong leadership bench and actively foster a culture characterized by ownership, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• 12–15+ years of extensive engineering experience, including demonstrated leadership of managers and senior technical leaders.
• Proven expertise in owning and successfully scaling data platforms or large distributed systems with significant enterprise impact.
• A strong foundational understanding of AI and data platform fundamentals, encompassing semantic modeling and AI-enabled architectures.
• A track record of driving organizational transformation and effective AI adoption across diverse teams.
• Valuable experience operating within highly reliable, secure, or regulated environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with healthcare data platforms, including EHR, clinical, or financial data.
• Exposure to agent-based systems, MCP servers, or advanced AI platform technologies.
• Experience fostering partnerships with applied science or research organizations.
• Proficiency with major cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP / OCI preferred).
