About the Role

Oracle is seeking a Senior Data Center Facilities Engineer to oversee critical infrastructure maintenance, manage incidents, and contribute to site evaluations. This role involves acting as an engineering representative for mission-critical systems, ensuring projects align with company expectations, and training junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Critical Environment Maintenance Support:
  • Track and monitor critical environment maintenance and repair for all service lines against SLAs to ensure uptime.
  • Employ operating knowledge of engineering systems for diagnostics and repairs, escalating issues as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of Oracle processes and industry standards to resolve routine issues.
  • Suggest system-level enhancements to reduce potential problems and evaluate components and action plans.
Incident Management and Operation Improvement:
  • Manage incidents impacting data center infrastructure and ensure their timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with various teams to integrate new engineering design systems.
  • Drive operational optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure safe working practices and participate in post-incident reviews, supporting root cause analyses and CAPA execution.
  • Follow emergency operations plans and stabilize conditions during incidents.
Site Commissioning and Build:
  • Participate in site reviews and assessments to evaluate suitability for data center builds.
  • Prepare and review technical reports to document findings and support recommendations.
  • Participate in design reviews and commissioning activities to ensure alignment with standards.
  • Review mechanical simulations (e.g., CFD analyses) to assess thermal performance and recommend design adjustments.
Data Center Operations Management:
  • Support and validate on-site data center operations related to engineering infrastructure.
  • Act as the engineering representative for moderately complex on-site scenarios.
  • Ensure operational requirements and specifications are addressed by the appropriate team.
  • Adhere to developed standards and policy through documentation review and participation in commissioning activities.
  • Document and review critical impacting changes, representing engineering in change advisory board (CAB) meetings.
Engineering Design, Leadership, and Governance:
  • Collaborate with senior team members on design and engineering initiatives.
  • Provide engineering insight to ensure project initiatives align with company expectations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external project team members.
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of policies and procedures.
  • Prepare technical reports for decision-making.
Training and Knowledge Sharing:
  • Contribute to the identification of training programs for new team members.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and train others on standard systems.
Colocation Vendor Management (as Needed):
  • Provide input for contract administration, including reviewing contracts and cost forecasts.
  • Contribute to sourcing and ensuring availability of resources like spare parts and fuel.
  • Coordinate vendor and contractor scheduling and site access.

US Hiring Range in USD from: $102,300 - $209,500 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
