Job Description

About the Role: Principal Technical Program Manager, OCI

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Dedicated Cloud Product Solutions Product Support Engineering team is seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead engagement, technical advisement, and relationship management with OCI’s Dedicated Region Cloud @Customer (DRCC) and Oracle Alloy customers. This role is ideal for someone passionate about delivering exceptional services to customers while deeply understanding strategic business objectives. As a TPM, you will become a trusted advisor, ensuring consistent quality deliverables, helping customers achieve their IT strategy, overcoming challenges, and meeting business goals through leading practices for successful Oracle technology and Cloud deployments and operations.

This is a non-routine and exceptionally complex position, requiring advanced technical and business skills. You will act as a leading contributor both individually and as a team member, providing direction to others. The role demands experience working within or alongside product management, strong thought leadership, and excellent business judgment.

Candidates must currently reside in the United States Pacific Time Zone (West Coast) and demonstrate fluency in both English and Japanese, including superior written and verbal communication skills in both languages.

Key Responsibilities

We are specifically looking for an experienced Principal Technical Program Manager with a proven ability to achieve results at scale. This involves working with cross-functional teams across large organizations, aligning stakeholders towards a unified goal and north star. You are a driver of results, not just a facilitator, possessing high judgment and a 'roll up your sleeves' attitude with a bias for action. Strong ownership and collaboration skills are essential. In this role, you will manage complex, cross-organizational and cross-functional programs that directly impact customers, product development, and overall business objectives.

You will collaborate with every team within OCI to ensure these programs are successful. This is a dynamic, agile, cross-cutting, and complex environment focused on critical customer programs, requiring significant support, partnership, and aligned investment.

  • Develop and manage DRCC and Alloy customer relationships by forming long-term connections and becoming deeply involved with customer technical staff and senior management.
  • Display authority, confidence, and a significant understanding of the customers’ business strategy and industry drivers.
  • Understand customer organization structures, key stakeholders, critical projects, goals, success factors, and technical infrastructure/roadmaps.
  • Work collaboratively with sales, delivery teams, product, engineering, and customers to identify appropriate solutions.
  • Operate as the primary contact for the customer, aiding and facilitating communications and activities across other Oracle lines-of-business.
  • Monitor, report, and communicate on complex projects for effective and efficient use of Oracle resources, ensuring contract margin and revenue objectives are met.
  • Act as a point of contact for any major incidents, coordinating OCI-wide responses and managing communication and customer expectations through resolution.
  • Establish and maintain a program governance model with the customer at senior management and senior executive levels.
  • Perform proactive scope and risk management, leading complex account planning and reviews.
  • Often take a project/program lead role, providing leadership and expertise in developing new products, services, and processes.
  • Lead initiatives for organizational process improvement and tool development.
  • Contribute to the organization at a regional level to drive regional and global strategy execution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience developing, implementing, and executing large, cross-cutting programs that directly impact customer success.
  • Native / Bilingual, or Professional Proficiency in English and Japanese.
  • Demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically.
  • A technology background enabling an understanding of cloud architecture complexities and advising customers on their cloud infrastructure strategy.
  • Exemplary maturity, judgment, advanced problem-solving, negotiation/influence, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders from DRCC/Alloy customers and across all of Oracle (engineering to business) to drive core business initiatives.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity, able to dive into problems with your team and customers to create solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's degree in a technical subject area.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise technical account management.
  • Technical domain knowledge of public cloud technologies and/or distributed systems.
