About the Role

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team is building large-scale distributed infrastructure for the cloud. Join OCI Networking to help build highly scalable, customizable services offering predictable performance, isolation, and availability. As a Principal Member of Technical Staff on the Network Automation team, you will design and develop tooling and infrastructure to manage a growing fleet of networking devices in a distributed multi-tenant cloud environment.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for maintaining and building new technologies to automate the management of distributed network devices. Tasks include:

  • Design and develop tooling for deployment and monitoring.
  • Automate build, test, and performance/scalability systems.
  • Improve deployment processes, tools, and dashboards.
  • Participate in on-call rotation monitoring fleet performance.
  • Develop runbooks and alarming mechanisms for operations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an expert in Linux, comfortable with Python, BASH, and Java. A background in embedded systems and systems engineering is required. Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's in computer science, engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of Linux System Engineering experience.
  • 4+ years of experience with Python, BASH, and Java.
  • 2+ years of DevOps experience with build tools and pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with embedded systems and CICD environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile development and cloud technologies.
  • Background in hardware qualification and network device automation.
