Job Description

Principal Consultant at Oracle Cerner

As an experienced consulting professional, you will bring a deep understanding of solutions, industry best practices, and various business processes or technology designs within Oracle's product/technology family. You will operate independently to deliver high-quality work products to engagements, applying Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs.

This advanced consulting position requires independent judgment to perform varied and complex duties and tasks, delivering functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements. You will work within defined policies and processes, requiring no assistance or guidance, and may act as a team lead on projects.

Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities include consulting with Oracle Cerner clients to deliver optimization-based consulting services, specifically within the Continuous Improvement Delivery team. These services focus on short, data-driven optimization projects aimed at achieving measurable outcomes quickly, engaging end-users in delivering Oracle Cerner’s Model Experience. Each project involves an Engagement Owner, Consultant(s), and a Data Analyst collaboratively working towards successful project outcomes.

You will consult clients on service line workflow, guiding them through interdependencies and design decision impacts. This role provides solution oversight, direction, and expertise to stakeholders, driving client-specific solution configuration design to meet workflow requirements, making recommendations, and mitigating solution risks and issues. You will also execute workflow and process improvement strategies, lead client meetings and events, and drive internal team initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 8 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education.
  • Minimum 1 year in healthcare information technology (HCIT) consulting, HCIT support, or other client-facing/IT solution work experience.
  • At least 7 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education.
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience preferred.
  • Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% as needed.
