About the Nurse Informatics Executive Role

The Nurse Informatics Executive supports VA’s Federal EHR deployment and advances clinical informatics initiatives to enhance care delivery and patient outcomes. This role requires deep expertise in clinical care, health informatics, executive leadership, and change management to drive organizational transformation.

Key Responsibilities and Impact

Collaborate with stakeholders across clinical and leadership levels (VAMC, VISN, and national) to align organizational goals and ensure successful EHR implementation. Drive end-user adoption, resolve implementation challenges, and optimize workflows using data-driven solutions.

Data Analytics and Strategic Objectives

Utilize clinical data analytics for evidence-based decision-making, regulatory adherence, and long-term strategy. Translate complex technical ideas into actionable recommendations, fostering clinical excellence and enhanced patient safety.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with higher education
  • 5+ years of clinical experience with 2+ years in health informatics
  • Experience with Oracle Health (Cerner) Electronic Health Record preferred
  • Proven leadership in change management and project execution
  • Strong communication skills and ability to foster collaboration
  • RN or degree in a related field
  • Willingness to travel up to 80%
  • U.S. citizenship required along with appropriate security clearance

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range in the US from $97,500 to $199,500 per year, with eligibility for bonus and equity. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) savings with company match, paid time off, and more.
