Overview
As a member of Oracle's Support organization, your primary focus will be to deliver post-sales support and robust solutions to our valued customer base, acting as a crucial advocate for their needs. This involves expertly resolving both non-technical customer inquiries and complex technical questions related to our Electronic Support Services, via phone and electronic channels. You will serve as a key point of contact for customers, fostering strong relationships with our Support team and offering guidance to internal Oracle employees on diverse customer situations and escalated issues.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will regularly engage with customer IT staff. Whether on-site or remotely, you will be responsible for resolving moderately complex technical problems covering installation, recommended maintenance, usage, and providing repair/workarounds for Oracle products. This role requires extensive experience with Oracle products and various supported platforms, operating with general guidance from management while keeping them informed of progress.
Responsibilities
Oracle's Advanced Customer Services (ACS) offers industry-leading expertise, ensuring the highest customer satisfaction to support organizations at every stage. In this role, you will:
- Provide 3rd and 4th level support for complex issues related to Oracle Engineering Systems.
- Participate actively in customer-driven projects.
- Implement, manage, and support the lifecycle of Engineering Systems, including monitoring, disaster recovery planning, compliance, and adherence to standards.
- Empower customers to fully utilize the features of their Engineering Systems Appliances.
- Implement, enforce, and adhere to Disaster Recovery plans for supported platforms.
- Ensure Engineering System Standards and Controls are meticulously maintained.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience in Solaris/Linux Server administration.
- In-depth knowledge of Supercluster, Exadata, M8-8 Server Administration, including patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Expertise in PDOM/LDOM configuration and ZFS patching/configuration.
- Proficiency in Oracle PCA patching and administration.
- Experience in project delivery for Oracle Engineered System landscapes (Exadata, ZDLRA), encompassing hardware, in-depth knowledge of Supercluster Exadata features, capacity planning, tuning, and troubleshooting of system components.
- Readiness and experience to work effectively in a 24*7 environment.

Qualifications
- Job duties are varied and complex, requiring independent judgment.
- May involve a project lead role.
- Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently with customers, consistently achieving high levels of satisfaction, are essential due to substantial customer interfacing.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred, along with five years of related experience.
- Experience with Oracle's core products, applications, and tools is important.
