Job Overview

As a member of the Support organization at Oracle, the Linux/Solaris Administration role focuses on delivering post-sales support and solutions while serving as a customer advocate. You will resolve both non-technical and technical inquiries regarding Oracle products and Electronic Support Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as primary contact for customer support inquiries.
  • Interface with customer IT staff to resolve moderately complex technical issues.
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair/workarounds for Oracle products.
  • Lead projects and advise management on status using independent judgment.
  • Work in a 24*7 environment ensuring system standards and disaster recovery plans.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 7+ years of Solaris/Linux Server administration experience.
  • Expertise in Supercluster, Exadata, M8-8 Server Administration, patching, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with PDOM/LDOM configurations and ZFS and Oracle PCA patching.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Kubernetes administration and disaster recovery planning.
  • Project delivery experience with Oracle Engineered Systems.

Added Advantage

  • Scripting knowledge.
  • Cloud certification or knowledge.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience with five years of related experience is preferred. Experience with Oracle's core products, applications, and tools is important.
