About Oracle's Content Operations Team

Oracle’s content operations team is at the forefront of explaining complex technologies such as AI, databases, cloud infrastructure, scientific and analytic computing, cloud-native development, and data management. Our mission is to elucidate how these technologies are applied in business contexts and how they effectively address critical challenges faced by large enterprises.

We are actively seeking an Executive Writer and Editor for AI, Software Development, and Cloud Native Content, a role split approximately 70% writing and 30% editing. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of the aforementioned technologies and leverage this expertise to create compelling content that inspires readers to delve deeper. This position involves not only crafting engaging, meticulously researched copy but also conceptualizing graphics and other multimedia elements to enrich the narrative.

If you have a nuanced grasp of concepts like parameter-efficient fine-tuning versus retrieval-augmented generation in AI and are adept at articulating their business implications to leaders, this opportunity at Oracle is designed for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze the application of new and combined technologies, subsequently writing or editing papers and articles that detail their use cases and demonstrate their achievable business value.
  • Conduct interviews with subject matter experts, both internal and external to Oracle, to capture and communicate their distinct perspectives on technology application.
  • Author ebooks and web-based articles in adherence to agreed-upon outlines.
  • Contribute to diverse content mediums, including video scripts, PowerPoint presentations, and social media posts.
  • Develop SEO- and AI-optimized content, guided by insights from our content discoverability team.
  • Participate in special projects and activities as required.
  • Cover industry events periodically, with travel anticipated 1 – 3 times per year.

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in writing content for business technologists and technology buyers.
  • At least 5 years of experience specifically covering the technology industry.
  • Demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of producing engaging content on highly technical subjects. Applicants may be requested to submit URLs to their published works and/or complete a short writing assessment.
  • Proficiency in adhering to established style and usage guidelines.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing content aligned with business needs and requirements.
  • Ability to work autonomously and creatively to successfully complete complex writing assignments within established deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating with geographically distributed teams.
