Architect, Cryptography, OCI at Oracle
The Crypto Security Platform team at Oracle owns all critical crypto services powering OCI and Oracle Health. This is a wide-ranging role supporting a diverse set of services, focusing on both core cloud services architecture and a strong security background.
We are seeking an individual who can delve deep into architectural challenges, ideally with prior experience as an Architect or Principal Engineer in Identity or Crypto areas at a major Hyperscaler. This background is vital for understanding security within large-scale cloud environments. The role requires comfort in moving across various domains, offering both broad oversight and deep dives into specific areas, ensuring optimal decisions during the rearchitecture and transformation of services from legacy to modern systems.
As Oracle continues its rapid growth in regions, new security challenges emerge. Significant problems must be solved in securely managing these diverse regions and realms, encompassing everything from cryptography and identity to access and permissions. The ultimate goal is to apply the same rigor to security as is applied to system availability, thereby enhancing the overall availability and security of Oracle's services.
Responsibilities
- Guide internal teams on building secure architectures and onboarding new technologies.
- Collaborate with internal architects and service teams to assess security risks and maintain high security standards.
- Support security programs and security engineering/architecture in complex enterprise environments.
What you'll bring
- 15+ years’ experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of security engineering, computer and network security, security protocols, and applied cryptography.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.
Education
A bachelor’s degree is preferred for this role; an advanced degree is a plus, but not essential.
