What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an Event Manager to join our Opus team. This role involves managing components across multiple medium to large-scale programs or leading small to medium-scale programs independently. You will be responsible for project success, ensuring clear expectations for stakeholders, internal teams, vendors, and contributors to achieve seamless execution.

Event Managers are strong communicators who anticipate client needs, drive planning schedules, manage budgets, and leverage Opus processes to deliver unique experiences. You must be results-oriented, capable of meeting demanding deadlines, and balancing multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment.

Key Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of event management experience, preferably within the event industry.
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams or programs from small to medium scale (minimum 500 – 3,000 person events). Please detail relevant events and your role on your resume.
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year institution preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to be results-oriented, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Independently manage components across various events and experiential campaigns.
  • Exhibit strong leadership, project management, and consultation skills with clients, vendors, and Opus team members, acting as a trusted partner.
  • Apply critical thinking, multi-tasking, and problem-solving capabilities to anticipate risks and implement creative solutions.
  • Manage a high volume of work, consistently delivering high-quality outputs.
  • Regularly meet with project teams to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Partner with financial managers to accurately manage budgets, secure written client approvals, and provide timely updates to prevent overruns.
  • Establish and maintain excellent independent working relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure higher caliber services and/or cost savings for clients.
  • Understand Opus best practices and overall agency operations.
  • Actively participate and contribute to department meetings, trainings, initiatives, and committees.
  • Effectively prioritize and delegate tasks to team members.
  • Maintain clear communication with managers and clients regarding special problems or exceptions.
  • Train and mentor junior members of the team.
  • Assume responsibility for the success of assigned event components, meeting client and manager expectations.
  • Utilize creative problem-solving throughout the planning cycle to enhance delivery effectiveness.
  • Ensure effective and timely communication with internal teams, clients, and vendors via phone and email.
