Overview

The Senior Clinical Administrative Coordinator role at Optum is a national remote position offering flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S. As part of a global organization, you will help improve health outcomes by connecting people with care, pharmacy benefits, data, and resources they need.

Role Responsibilities

This role involves working closely with facilities and clinical case managers to retrieve NOMNC documents, manage referrals, and handle outbound calls and faxes. You will assist with the initial triage of members, manage administrative intake, track admission/discharge data, and follow department-specific SOPs and Job Aids to ensure workflow consistency.

Primary Duties

  • Retrieve and forward faxes and NOMNC documents
  • Manage outbound calls and provider/member service requests
  • Assist in training and mentoring new and existing staff
  • Plan, organize, and complete work to meet quality standards
  • Adhere to regulatory guidelines and meet turnaround times

Work Schedule & Training

This is a full-time role (40 hours/week) with an 8-hour shift schedule during normal business hours (9:00 am - 6:00 pm CST), Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required to occasionally work outside standard hours due to business needs. You will receive 2-4 weeks of paid on-the-job training aligned with your schedule.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma/GED or equivalent, at least 2 years of experience in healthcare or with health plans, familiarity with medical terminology, and intermediate skills in Doc360 and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge in Community & State and Medicare products is a plus.

Telecommuting Requirements

Candidates must have a dedicated, secure workspace at home with a high-speed internet connection (minimum 1.5 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload), meeting UnitedHealth Group approved standards.
