Position Overview

The DevOps Engineer is a valued member of the DevOps Engineering Team. You will be responsible for developing and rolling out automated infrastructure-as-code, continuous delivery mechanisms, and scalable cloud deployments for Optum Insight's Stratus Imaging solution. You will work closely with application development, SRE teams, and adhere to agile practices.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and support application infrastructure in Google Cloud environments.
  • Create and maintain reusable infrastructure as code (IaC) components.
  • Automate deployment, configuration, scaling, and cybersecurity controls.
  • Assist with test and production environment setups and maintenance.
  • Document deliverables and create/exercise test plans.
  • Analyze production monitoring data and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate in an Agile environment with product development, operations, and support teams.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher
  • 4+ years in software/systems engineering
  • 2+ years in continuous delivery of cloud infrastructure and applications
  • 2+ years of programming/scripting with Bash and Python
  • 2+ years of proven cloud infrastructure experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Ansible, Kustomize, Docker, Linux and Windows administration
  • Strong network configuration and monitoring skills
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare IT standards
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills

Additional Information

This position offers flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within Canada. Adherence to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy is required. Salary for Canada residents starts from $61,400 to $127,500 per year based on various factors.
