About the Position

The Universal Prekindergarten Program Assistant supports the UPK liaison to coordinate and implement the program scope. The role involves logistical, administrative, and communication support to ensure smooth project operations and effective engagement with partners, early learning providers, school districts, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Manage program documentation and electronic files.
  • Coordinate meetings, schedules, and event logistics.
  • Prepare data for monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Assist with purchasing and maintaining records of office supplies.
  • Communicate with contacts via phone, email, and Constant Contact.
  • Create outreach materials and design visual content.
  • Research and engage new community partnership collaborations.
  • Support in-person and virtual event planning and execution.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent, Bachelor’s preferred in a related field.
  • At least one year of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of the Los Angeles child care system is preferred.
  • Strong multitasking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Google Suite, Constant Contact, Zoom; WordPress and Canva are a plus.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese preferred.
  • Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel across LA County.

Job Specifications

This is a grant-funded, full-time, non-exempt position for fiscal years 2025-26 with possible extension. The position is based in West Covina, Calif. and may require limited evening or weekend hours.
