The Senior Support Engineer Lead at OpenAI is responsible for ensuring that developers and enterprises can reliably build mission critical solutions using OpenAI models. The team works closely with Technical Success, Product, Engineering, and others to deliver the best possible experience to customers at scale through an automation-first mindset and leveraging the latest in AI.
About The Role
The role entails building and guiding a high-performing global team of Senior Support Engineers with backgrounds in software engineering, site reliability engineering, and systems architecture. You will operate autonomously to tackle deeply technical challenges and serve as the final escalation point before Engineering.
- Design and improve incident management processes with automation.
- Lead strategic workload monitoring and 24x7 operational coverage.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and GTM teams for issue resolution.
- Drive internal tooling and AI-first support operations.
- Participate in broader support leadership to shape culture and strategy.
