The People Analytics team partners with People Business Partners, People Systems, Total Rewards, Recruiting, and Data Platform teams to provide rigorous insights that inform leadership decisions, organization design, and operational cadence.
About The Role
The People Data Automation Analyst role is a hands-on, technical, and analytical position within the People Analytics team. Responsible for building reliable datasets, automating reporting for leadership reviews, and scaling reporting frameworks across the People data stack, this role requires a strong technical background and the ability to collaborate with various data stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities
- Leverage the engineering stack to automate manual data analytics and reporting.
- Conduct data gathering, reporting, and analysis for executive reviews and deep dives.
- Prepare slide-ready data exports for executive business reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (People Systems, Finance, Data Platform, Recruiting Operations) to prepare and document datasets.
- Build and automate recurring reporting frameworks and perform data validations.
- Develop ad hoc data pipelines to support executive reporting.
We’re Seeking
- 2–4 years experience in data analytics, data engineering, BI, consulting or similar roles.
- Strong SQL expertise with production queries, ETLs, and data validations.
- Experience in cleaning, joining, and validating multi-source datasets.
- Excellent communication skills and experience preparing slide-ready charts/tables.
- Strong Python and automation experience; HRIS/ATS/payroll data experience is a plus.
Workplace & Location
This role is based in OpenAI’s San Francisco office. The work arrangement is hybrid: three days in the office with optional work from home on Thursdays and Fridays. We offer relocation support, a modern open-plan office with premium amenities, and a collaborative work environment.
