About the Role
OpenAI is seeking a Head of Growth Partnerships to lead B2C and B2B growth initiatives. You will shape and execute external collaborations, setting global strategy and driving execution across a broad portfolio of partnerships. This role involves distribution, integrations, co-marketing, and product partnerships focused on measurable growth, engagement, user value, partner value, and conversion.
You will build and lead the Growth Partnerships function, aligning internal executives and cross-functional leaders, owning senior external relationships, negotiating complex commercial and product terms, and ensuring strong delivery with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, Legal, and Finance. Success means owning important business outcomes by closing high-quality partnerships and transforming agreements into reliable launches, strong user experiences, and sustained impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Set Growth Partnerships strategy and portfolio across consumer, multiple products, and business units, balancing near-term growth, medium-term distribution, and long-term product-led bets.
- Lead major consumer growth partnerships for ChatGPT across various sectors, focusing on user experience, economics, and partner alignment.
- Drive B2B and ecosystem growth partnerships for ChatGPT Business and Codex/API usage through scalable channels.
- Lead a cross-functional global Growth Partnerships team and personally drive key negotiations.
- Build deep credibility with product leaders by improving growth outcomes, sharpening strategic decisions, and identifying partnership value.
- Define targets, instrumentation, and operating cadence to drive measurable KPI impact and iterate based on performance.
- Lead C-Level partner relationships by building trust, aligning on joint value propositions, and managing complexity.
- Build and lead a world-class team of deal leads, partner managers, and operators, enhancing strategic thinking, judgment, and execution.
- Represent Growth Partnerships in leadership reviews, communicating tradeoffs on bets, resourcing, and risks.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, product partnerships, business development, or growth roles at scaled consumer and/or B2B tech companies.
- Proven track record building partnership motions that drive measurable growth (product integrations, platform partnerships, distribution).
- Deep experience collaborating with Product and Engineering to shape scope, set milestones, and manage post-launch iteration.
- Excellence in complex deal-making, including structuring and negotiating across product, commercial, legal, and operational dimensions; comfort with ambiguity and high stakes.
- Strong cross-functional leadership experience with Growth, Finance, Legal, Policy/Safety, Data Science, Support, and international stakeholders.
- High judgment and executive presence; credible with C-level partners and internal leadership, calm under pressure.
- Analytical and metrics-driven, fluent in funnels, cohorts, retention, partner attribution, and ROI, with the ability to translate insights into action.
- Operator mindset; skilled in building repeatable systems, reducing cycle time, and improving execution quality across parallel workstreams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including concise documents, clear narratives, and crisp decision framing.
