About The Team
The Ecosystem team at OpenAI is a major initiative this year, focused on transforming ChatGPT into a truly powerful super-assistant. We are developing the platform that millions of developers, and eventually end-users, will leverage to significantly enhance ChatGPT's utility. This is achieved through robust tooling, comprehensive SDKs, and scalable platform capabilities that foster a thriving ecosystem of ChatGPT Apps.
About The Role
We are actively seeking a Full-Stack Engineer, ChatGPT Ecosystem who excels at integrating front-end and back-end development to deliver complete, end-to-end features for the ChatGPT Apps platform and SDK. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with various teams including Product, Security, Trust & Safety, Research, and other engineering disciplines to craft high-quality developer experiences and extend the functionalities of ChatGPT Apps.
What You’ll Do
- Build and ship mission-critical features within the ChatGPT Apps SDK and the broader platform.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Security, Trust & Safety, Research, and Engineering to design and deliver developer-first experiences.
- Own features comprehensively: from initial design and technical direction through implementation, launch, and subsequent iteration.
- Develop scalable services and APIs, alongside creating polished UI surfaces that facilitate publishing, discovery, and app capabilities.
- Help establish enduring technical direction, laying foundations that will evolve into new product areas over time.
- Contribute to team best practices in testing, architecture, and overall Software Development Life Cycle quality.

- Are a true full-stack engineer, adept at transitioning between frontend and backend tasks to deliver complete features. (Experience with React/Python is a bonus, though not a strict requirement).
- Have a proven track record of building developer tools or platforms, such as SDKs, integrations (like Slack apps), open-source libraries, or have worked at developer-tooling companies.
- Are product-oriented and enjoy cross-functional collaboration to shape exceptional user and developer experiences.
- Are capable of shipping quickly without compromising on quality, security, or performance.
