The ChatGPT Engineering team focuses on building the product surfaces people interact with daily, transforming new model capabilities into fast, polished, and trustworthy user experiences. As a Frontend Engineer, ChatGPT, you will be at the heart of this work, collaborating closely with design, product, research, and backend teams to deliver intuitive, performant, and reliable features at a global scale.
Our teams encompass areas like Growth, Ecosystems, Personalization, Search & Knowledge Experiences, and Platform UI, all dedicated to establishing UI foundations and creating product experiences that help users discover, trust, and derive significant value from ChatGPT.
About The Role
OpenAI is actively seeking Frontend Engineers to develop exceptional product experiences across ChatGPT. In this role, you will be involved in high-impact user flows, UI architecture, and performance optimization, ultimately shipping features that make advanced AI feel simple, responsive, and delightful for users.
What You’ll Do
- Build and ship high-quality product experiences across web surfaces.
- Partner with design and product teams to translate innovative ideas into polished, accessible UI.
- Own crucial frontend architecture decisions, including component systems, state management, routing, and client-side performance.
- Enhance reliability, observability, and overall quality through rigorous testing, monitoring, and robust tooling.
- Collaborate closely with backend and data teams to seamlessly integrate APIs and deliver comprehensive end-to-end features.
- Contribute to the long-term technical direction and actively participate in design and architecture reviews.
