The AI Deployment Engineering team at OpenAI focuses on the safe and effective deployment of Generative AI applications for developers and enterprises. Serving as trusted advisors, they build effective backlogs of GenAI use cases, guiding them to production through strong technical expertise. As an AI Deployment Engineer Manager, Digital Natives, you will lead efforts to transform technology and software companies through solutions such as customer service automation, content generation, and novel applications using cutting-edge models.
About The Role
OpenAI is seeking an AI Deployment Engineer Manager, Digital Natives to lead the technical success of strategic technology and software customers across EMEA. This leadership role encompasses managing the entire implementation journey, ensuring seamless platform integration and serving as the customer's technical advocate. You will align internal teams to deliver exceptional experiences, with success measured by live production applications, increased API adoption, and impactful customer stories demonstrating the value of OpenAI's technology.
This role is open in any of our EMEA offices (London, Munich, Paris). We operate a hybrid work model requiring 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance.
In This Role, You Will
- Own the strategy and operating model for the Digital Native AI Deployment Engineering team across EMEA, aligning with company objectives and evolving customer needs. This includes triaging opportunities and managing the Digital Native portfolio.
- Lead, build, and mentor a high-performing team of AI Deployment Engineers to achieve exceptional customer outcomes, evidenced by production customer applications and increased API adoption.
- Serve as the technical advocate for OpenAI's customers, synthesizing their needs to influence the Research and Applied Product/Engineering roadmaps.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point during development, fostering trust and maintaining direct communication with executive-level stakeholders.
- Serve as an industry thought leader, championing the safe and innovative application of OpenAI's technology across various sectors.
You’ll Thrive In This Role If You
- Possess 8+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles, managing C-level technical and business relationships within complex global organizations.
- Have 2+ years of experience leading technical post-sales teams, with a proven ability to hire, develop, and manage technical talent.
- Have led complex implementations of Generative AI/traditional ML solutions and possess knowledge of network/cloud architecture.
- Have industry experience in programming languages such as Python or Javascript.
- Are an effective and polished communicator capable of translating business and technical topics for all audiences and mentoring others to do the same.
- Embody a humble attitude, an eagerness to help others, and a strong desire to acquire missing knowledge to ensure the success of your team and customers.
