The Opportunity: Sales Development Representative

Ontic is seeking a talented Sales Development Representative to join its successful Sales Development Team. This role involves close alignment with the outside sales team to target new accounts, respond to inbound leads, and identify qualified opportunities. The ideal candidate will thrive in competitive environments, developing relationships with Fortune 500 corporate prospects and cultivating a personal brand as a trusted advisor. This position offers a future growth path within Sales at Ontic, emphasizing a solution-oriented approach and collaborative teamwork within a dynamic startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow up on inbound marketing leads and identify qualified opportunities, providing appropriate information to interested prospects.
  • Create target prospect lists and strategically penetrate key accounts in collaboration with Enterprise Account Executives.
  • Develop strong partnerships with Sales and Marketing teams to execute strategic sales and account-based approaches.
  • Meet or exceed assigned quotas for daily calls and first-touch emails.
  • Profile strategic accounts by identifying key contacts, researching business requirements, and presenting solutions to initiate the sales cycle.
  • Set meetings for the Sales team once leads reach a qualified stage.
  • Nurture new Marketing leads by educating and developing prospects until they are ready for an outside sales representative.
  • Strategize and execute multi-touch account-based campaigns in partnership with Marketing and Sales.
  • Drive attendance for webinars and live events, set meetings for conferences, and assist in direct mail execution.
  • Ensure successful follow-through of the sales cycle by maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification information in Salesforce.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience as a Business Development Representative (BDR) or Sales Development Representative (SDR).
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, excellent listening skills, and an energetic phone presence.
  • Experience with both Account-Based Everything (ABE/ABM) and Marketing Qualified Lead (MQL) environments.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding quotas and accurately forecasting business.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating in sales organizations that foster teamwork.
  • Extremely self-motivated with a diligent work ethic.
  • Process-oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity and a strong commitment to building a successful company.
  • Adept computer skills.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Demandbase, ZoomInfo, Salesforce, and Outreach preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
