About the role

AI Technical Product Owner

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven AI Technical Product Owner to join their team. This role supports the end-to-end delivery of AI products by managing the roadmap and lifecycle, aligning stakeholders, facilitating agile execution, tracking KPIs, and advancing MLOps maturity.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in managing the AI product roadmap by defining, refining, and prioritizing features, epics, and user stories based on value, effort, and risk.
  • Contribute to the AI product vision and strategy by collecting, synthesizing, and analyzing feedback from users and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate clear, consistent communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Support lifecycle activities across planning, development, launch, and iteration phases.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on critical product and model performance metrics/KPIs.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and promote continuous improvement.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to maintain awareness of AI/ML industry trends.
  • Partner with the AI Technical Lead to support AI processes and increase operational maturity by contributing to MLOps adoption.
  • Architect and design AI solutions from inception to deployment, leading the development and implementation of advanced AI/ML models.

Qualifications

  • 4-Year University Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting AI/ML product management and delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience managing an AI product roadmap and backlog.
  • Proven ability to contribute to AI product vision and strategy.
  • Strong capability facilitating communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting end-to-end product lifecycle activities.
  • Experience establishing, monitoring, and reporting product and model performance KPIs/metrics.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Working knowledge of AI delivery practices and MLOps concepts.
