Summary

The Senior Data Architect at Onix plays a key role in designing and implementing data solutions that meet client business needs. This role involves leading the design, development, and implementation of Lakehouse and data warehouse architectures in cloud environments while ensuring data governance, quality, and integration using multiple cloud platforms.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of Lakehouse and data warehouse architectures.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate data needs into technical requirements.
  • Implement and enforce data governance policies and validation processes.
  • Deploy and debug cloud data initiatives in line with best practices.
  • Mentor a team of data engineers and drive reusable solution designs.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in data and AI/ML.
  • Consult on professional services engagements and deliver client presentations.
  • Automate and orchestrate cloud-based data platforms.

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • 7+ years in Data Architecture, data engineering and analytics.
  • 10+ years of consulting experience with cloud platforms.
  • Certifications in Databricks Data Engineering or Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Deep expertise in distributed computing with Spark and data pipelining.
  • Experience with terraform, Git, CI/CD, and automation testing.
  • Strong knowledge of Databricks products, Delta, Iceberg, and Hudi.
  • Understanding of MLOps and cloud data governance using Unity Catalog & DBX governance models.

Education & Travel

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required. Travel up to 15%.
