Overview
The Senior Software QA Automation Engineer II at OneStream Software is a senior individual contributor responsible for owning and curating team-level automation as part of the Quality Engineering strategy. This role involves designing risk-aligned, maintainable automated checks that support continuous delivery and informed release decisions.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Own design, implementation, and curation of automation suites.
- Design automated checks based on risk, behavior, and failure value.
- Partner with Quality Engineers to translate exploratory findings into automation candidates.
- Participate in refinement, design, and sprint planning sessions.
- Adjust automated check placement as risk evolves.
- Investigate failures to diagnose root causes and eliminate flakiness.
- Provide clear diagnostic outputs for quick decision-making.
- Share best practices and set standards across teams.
- Mentor Automation Engineers and Quality Engineers.
- Collaborate with framework teams to improve tooling and practices.
Required Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience. 6–8+ years of experience in software development and/or test automation with proficiency in C# and automated testing of APIs, services, and user interfaces. Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintaining large automation suites is required. Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum and excellent communication skills are essential.
Preferred Education And Experience
Experience with enterprise, financial, or SaaS platforms. Familiarity with Azure environments, SQL, and data validation strategies. Experience in improving test observability, logging or diagnostic tooling, and mentoring peers is a plus.
