About OnePay

OnePay is the consumer fintech trusted by millions of Americans to make money better. Our financial system is broken, characterized by high fees, low rates, and limited opportunities to grow your money. We are actively working to fix this and moving quickly towards our goals.

We offer an all-in-one financial services platform integrating banking, high-yield savings, credit cards, point-of-sale lending, investing, and crypto. Additionally, we partner with employers, HCM providers, gig platforms, and others to deliver embedded financial services to millions of employees and frontline workers.

Backed by Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, and Ribbit Capital, a highly respected fintech investor, we possess rare scale, distribution, and the unique opportunity to build something truly category-defining.

What truly distinguishes OnePay is our pace. Our customers don’t have time to wait, and neither do we. This environment moves fast, and we are seeking individuals who are:

  • Exceptional at what they do, with low ego
  • Comfortable operating in motion

The Role: Disputes Operations

The Disputes Operations role will manage day-to-day operations with a primary focus on controls and accounting exceptions. This position will significantly impact OnePay’s vision by requiring expertise in regulatory requirements and money movement related to disputes. You will collaborate closely with various operations and finance teams to ensure that disputes-related ledgers are balanced and proper accounting is maintained throughout all stages of a claim's lifecycle. Furthermore, you will identify opportunities to automate disputes-related accounting processes and improve existing automations to reduce the number of exceptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting exceptions and failure queues generated within our disputes case management platform and following ledger reconciliation.
  • Review and resolve money movement related queues that arise due to special account statuses.
  • Provide constructive feedback to operational teams when manual errors are observed that lead to accounting exceptions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, capable of reviewing and resolving escalations that necessitate advanced investigations.
  • Identify opportunities, build compelling business cases, and prioritize initiatives aimed at enhancing quality and efficiency.
  • Perform root cause analysis when issues emerge, creating quick workarounds while actively driving towards permanent solutions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

What You Bring

  • 3-5+ years of experience in the disputes/fraud space.
  • Working knowledge of transaction posting and practical experience with ledger reconciliation.
  • Working knowledge of industry best practices regarding the fraud & disputes lifecycle, as well as network rules and chargeback processes (specifically Mastercard).
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, including Regulation E and Regulation Z.
  • Comfort managing competing priorities and urgent requests effectively.
  • An act-like-an-owner mentality, demonstrating a bias toward taking decisive action.
